A Day at the ZOO!
Yesterday John and I had a chance to get away and go to the San Diego Zoo. John was able to take the day off and I am on spring break! We had a great time. Just thought I would share a couple photos from the day.
This was one of our favorite things to see at the zoo: A swimming Polar Bear!

Being is school is harder than I thought
WARNING, this is kind of a venting post a little.
Anyways being in school is much more difficult than I ever thought it would be. Mostly because what I am learning most people don't get it or have no idea what I am talking about. It is kinda lonely when you notice that other people don't understand what you are talking about or don't have any input about the topic. I guess this is one of the reasons that my program makes you do at least 30 hours of personal therapy while you are in the program. I am starting to see why this is a requirement. My days are filled with me being immersed in all things psychotherapy and all things emotion and feeling based. It is truly hard to pull yourself out of this and be a normal person that others can relate to. We are learning how to transition from therapist mode to who we are outside of therapists, but it is sooooo hard. You can not help but blend the two. I guess it is just hard to be learning a profession that is not common knowledge to the average person and is not at all easy to explain. I guess i just need to learn how to balance things in my life and just remember to just be Alaina, and not Alaina the therapist in training. Prayers would be much appreciated if you get a chance. I guess I just need God's guidance on how to navigate this whole new world I am a part of.

For those of you who know this girl!!
For anybody who has known me since junior high, you will get a kick out of this (Courtney may be the only one!) Anyways, I used to wear nothing but tie-dyed shirts and listen to Grateful Dead music as a young teen. Well, I still listen to the Grateful Dead, but this is the first time I have reintroduced a Grateful Dead shirt into my wardrobe(at least this one actually fits). At first I could not bear the thought of putting back on a dead shirt, but John convinced me otherwise. So to pay homage to that grateful dead loving, hemp wearing, guitar playing, veggie burrito eating girl, here I am today paying tribute to that piece of myself that will probably never fade away.
